Volunteer as a writer/Editor

    8 hours a day for two or three days a week, for a minimum of 3 months is desirable
  • Volunteer Role:
    We are looking for responsible people who are capable of working independently. It is desirable to have good writing and editing skills for this project

    Your role will be to assist the organization in their publications. You are required to have a working knowledge of computer, especially microsoft packages.You need to attend a two- day long orientation beore your project starts. The orientation will help you understand the enviornmnent at the organization and their policies. you will also be provided with the Information on the helpline and the kinds of issue dealt by the organization. The organization has a participatory process and will start with setting up a mutually agreed goals of the assignment.

    In this project, you will gain a whole new perspective on sexuality in India. You will be acknowledged in the publication. The organization will be happy to take care of your travel expenses . At the end of your project you will be given a experience letter along with a set of current publications and 2 sets of new publications free of cost.
  • Brief Background of the organisation:
    This is an NGO which has been working on Sexuality, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights since 1996. It works towards expanding sexual and reproductive choices in people’s lives in an effort to enable them to enjoy lives of dignity, freedom from fear, infection and reproductive and sexual health problems.

    It  has been running a telephone Helpline since 1996. Some of their other programmes include Public Education (this includes developing sexuality education material for diverse audiences) and Advocacy, The Sexuality and Rights Institute (in collaboration with CREA) and The South and Southeast Asia Resource Centre.

    The organization aims to address all people, especially women and young people through its various programmes. It is one of the few NGOs in India that works on sexuality, without restricting it to a disease-prevention, violence against women or sexual minorities’ framework, but rather from an affirmative and rights-based approach.

    The main programmes run by the organization are
    1. The helpline
    2. The Trainings and Institute
    3. Publications
    4. Public Education and advocacy services and
    5. The South and South east Asia resource center on Sexuality.
